Elva Rella and Zoe the Book Hound

In 1994 Elva Rella relocated to the Melbourne area to be closer to family. She’d had a long and successful career in high-end hotel management working for industry leaders including Four Seasons, Hilton, and Park Lane hotels, among others.  But upon arriving here, Elva found there were very few opportunities in the local hospitality industry.  So she decided to take a bold step and open her own business. Focusing on her love of books and reading, Elva opened a bookshop, Patrick Paperbacks, located on South Patrick Drive in Satellite Beach. Within five years she moved the shop to a larger space. When that location was sold in 2005, Elva relocated her shop to A1A right across from the ocean in the Spanish Trace office complex. This new location turned out to be just right, and affords Patrick Paperbacks even more space for a larger selection of books.

Patrick Paperbacks has evolved into much more than just an independently owned book shop.  The shop carries  new and used books, and also offers audio books, weekly rentals of new releases, and a 20% discount on all new books ordered. As well, Patrick Paperbacks takes pride in being a part of our community, employing local high school students to help in the shop and offering most of the required reading for local schools.
